Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an alcoholic in the Netherlands? Neither had I until I watched this article from the BBC.

Apparently, the progressive minded Dutch are offering alcoholics free beer to clean the streets. This is part of a campaign to reduce crime. It certainly sounds like a winning situation for most of the parties involved. It’s also a far more realistic approach than what I could typically see us doing here in the states. Hell, most of these alcoholics would probably already be in jail if they were Americans.
As a beer lover who has bordered on alcoholism in the past, I certainly applaud this humane response to an inevitable problem.
