I recently wrote an article comparing the three main lines of Edgestar kegerators. But what if you are trying to determine whether to buy a Kegco model or an Edgestar? Look no further.
Kegco Kegerators
Kegco is based in San Diego. They sell most of their models on the Beverage Factory website. Kegco and Beverage Factory are the same company. In addition to selling online, Beverage Factory has a brick and mortar location. The Yelp reviews for the brick and mortar location are kind of scary. I minimize the significance of this and place more value on the overall solid product reviews on Amazon.

Kegco Models
I personally find the K209 to be the sweet spot for Kegco kegerators. Paying $100 more for a digital temperature display seems silly at the end of the day. Avoid the K199 model because who wants a kegerator that won’t hold all full sized kegs. Plus, if you get into homebrewing, you will appreciate the fact that the latter two lines hold up to 3 corny kegs.
Edgestar Kegerators
Edgestar is based in Austin. They sell most of their models on Kegerator.com. Edgestar and Kegerator.com are the same company. Edgestar does not have a brick and mortar location like Beverage Factory. Much like with Beverage Factory, some review sites slam Kegerator.com and its parent company Living Direct, while others give it pretty glowing reviews. Again, I am mostly concerned with the product reviews on Amazon, which are good for the kegerator lines.

Edgestar Models
The Kegco K199 model is similar to the Edgestar Kc2000 model. K100 has a better warranty, but the base price is higher. The KC3000 is similar to the K309. Again, the EdgeStar model is a little cheaper, but it has a worse warranty. Personally, I would buy the K209. I like the price point, and I don’t need a digital temperature display.
