The Summit SBC500SSST is one of the best kegerators on the market. It is an absolutely beautiful all stainless unit with a fingerprint resistant coating. The top surfaces uses quality 18 gauge stainless steel. High grade casters allow the unit to be moved with ease. Summit has a reputation for making rock solid appliances. They stand behind this unit with a 5 year warranty on the compressor. The other components have a 1 year warranty. The thermostat is adjustable. It’s a fairly large unit with a 50″ height (with tower), 24″ width and 25″ depth. This allows for greater flexibility in the variety of kegs it can store. There is a convenient manual defrost option. This unit is shipped with an empty 5 pound CO2 tank and sankey tap. The only drawback of this particular unit is the fact it only comes with one tap. Many spending this much money would like dual taps.

Summary
The Summit SBC500SSST is a stylish, well manufactured kegerator. It is a little expensive with an average cost of a little over a grand. This is a case where money buys quality. The manufacturer, Summit, has been building quality appliances for a wide variety of occasions since 1969. The main drawback of this unit is the fact it only comes with one tap. If this aspect doesn’t bother you and the price is within your budget, this is a great choice.

Thanks for the review. Home Depot has this for just under a grand if you ship to the store. I might get this and see about upgrading later to a 2 handle tap. Otherwise I’m OK paying more if the quality is there, I posted elsewhere on this site about my troubles with the Edgestar brand. I like that the Summit seems purpose built as a kegerator (doesn’t come with shelves, has keg slats, etc)
